Welcome to

Samphire Quilters

King's Lynn

Samphire Quilters were founded in1991, by a group of 8/9 people, after an exhibition by Norfolk Quilters at the local museum. Two of our founders were members of The Quilters' Guild, and through them we were put in touch with each other, and formed a group. Our first chairwoman was Annette Morgan, who has gone on to be President of the Quilters' Guild, and now teaches City and Guilds Patchwork and Quilting. She has also written books on the subject.

From this beginning the group has now flourished to a membership of 40-45. We do not restrict numbers, and accept members from all levels of skill, some of us have been quilting for 20 years or more, some have yet to make a full sized quilt.

We have made and presented two quilts to the Town hall and both are now hanging in the Gaol House. We regularly make quilts and other items for local charities.

We hold our meeting on Monday evenings, every two weeks, starting at 7.30pm at the North Lynn Community Centre, Lawrence Road and regularly hold workshop days.
